I am sure it is straight forward, but since I haven't done anything to my bike yet except for installing the air filter. I have been looking, trying to find a video or pictures of someone removing the ECU. Does any one have one?

The ECU is EXTREMELY easy to access on the 300. You basically want to remove the two side fairings that are right under the rider seat on each side. You remove that one screw on each side.

Then, you can gently wiggle it off. You'll then see a bolt on each side that the allen key will fit that came with your tool kit. Once those two bolts are off, you can remove the seat which will give you access to the battery and ECU. The ECU sits right on top of the battery, You can't miss it. It looks like a little black square box with plug and play wires connected to it inside a little rubber harness. There's two little latches or clips that hold it down, you just release those, and unplug the plugs, and boom, it comes right out with ease.

I don't have a detailed guide, I'm sure someone has made one if you try searching for it using the search function. If not, I'm sure someone will chime in, but it's as simple as I just explained off memory as I don't have the 300 anymore.

What you're describing isn't the ECU but the primary electrical relay. The ECU is right underneath the silver seat mounting bracket and sits inside it's own case/tray.
