Changing the high beam headlight bulb

Hey guys, newbie here.
My high beam headlight bulb is dead, so I purchased a new one. Thought it wouldn't be too hard to replace it, but to my surprise, I can't figure out how to do it (afraid i'll break something)
Anyway, I've watched videos and seen pictures, and in most, the headlight assembly has already been taken out.
Does anyone know how to do this? can it be done without removing the fairings?

Your video helped to a certain point.. Mine's a little different..
The bulb I purchased from the dealer already came with a bunch of cables and whatnot, and it is exactly the same as the one that was already in there.

I will take the fairings off for the sake of getting to know my bike. Thanks for the advice.

It's possible to do it without removing the fairings, but it's a royal pain in the arse as you can see from the video above.

You'll rip out a lot less hair and your hands will thank you if you just remove the fairings. Take some time, get to know your bike.

Lol, it'd take me 30 seconds to swap a bulb if it wasn't for me trying to film it. Really, it isn't that hard to change the bulb without removing the fairings. Granted, if the fairings were off and you needed to change a bulb, it'd be easier.

No hair was ripped out nor hands hurt during the making of that video.

Being HID complicates things a bit more. It could be the ballast or wiring (as suggested); these bulbs don't usually burn out so quickly unless it was mishandled during installation

(Never touch the glass of the bulb, the oils in your skin will cause the bulb to fail prematurely).

I just spent an HOUR changing out my h7's. Frustrating. The first time I did it it only took about 10 minutes tops. That's without removing the farings. This time the stupid clamp on the high beam (left side) wouldn't clamp down like it should but would pop out after barely touching the bulb when trying to put the connecter back on. So dumb. :emot-bang:
