I live in Pa about an hour east of Philly. I know that winter is the best time to find deals on used bikes on CL etc. But when would be the best time to pick up a new 300?

The local dealer here has the white one that I want in stock for $4799 + $500 in setup fees. The interest rates offered are anywhere between 5-8%. Will the dealer be more open to negotiations now while demand is low or will there be specials and possibly lower interest offers in the spring to jumpstart the season?

I have read through all of the 'what did you pay' threads and know that their asking price is more than fair. I'm just wondering if I should jump on it now or hold out.

If you hold off to long all the 300's might be sold out. Thats what happened with the 250 came out, dealers were already sold out by the time riding season started.

IF you are serious why not put a deposit down? Its better to be safe than sorry.

best thing to do is shop around and see if other dealers are willing to give you a better price. Make sure they know you are getting quotes from several dealers so they know not to give a silly OTD price. Make sure the price included EVERYTHING it takes to walk out with the bike. Decide from there.

Now is the time to buy if you want one, come spring/summer they will be sold out.. I remember when the 2008 Ninja 250R came out I tried to buy one in the early summer. Every dealer in my area had already pre-sold every 2008 they were getting for the rest of the year, and where already taking deposits on the 2009s!!!

I would call dealers and they would just laugh at my when I asked if they had any..

Just to be clear (you said you read all the "what did you pay" threads) you understand a "set up fee" is what some dealers (who want to rip you off) charge to take the bike out of the crate and bolt on the mirrors. If your actually talking about destination charges or tax and license that that sounds cool. But if your paying that on top of those 2 charges, doesn't sound like a good deal

I would think you still have some time to shop around with Honda's new 5's coming we're not sure what the hottest bike will be this summer yet.
