I've raced on street tires for a few years because of budget and have no complaints with bias-ply streeters! My last race bike used a 90mm rear tire which was actually a front run the wrong way and the front tire was an 80mm. I was knee down everywhere it was necessary and had great traction and feed back! TRUST your tires, they will give you what you need...

Mostly shop on line and buy from dealer. Tell them what you want, they order it and you pick up when ready. But, I've had great success going to the dealer and seeing what they have on sale and trying new brands or compounds...Got my first pair of "Pilots" that way and loved them. Same with the Perelli Dragon Pros...Liquidation sale....Man do they stick...
