When I got my 300 the dealer did not put any kind of written warranty in the package. I called and they said it was covered by the standard warranty for a year nad there was no separate warranty. This seems odd to me. Did anyone here (in the USA) get a written warranty with the bike? I can't find much on the Kawasaki site.

The bike comes with a 12 month warranty, some people buy longer warranties when they buy their bikes. You can also by an extended warranty at anytime the bike is still under warranty, so if you plan to keep the bike more than 1 year, before that time is up, you may want to consider buying another year (or 2 or 3) warranty for your bike.

Only if doing those modifications are determined to be the cause of the problem. But that can easily be said to avoid doing warunty work..

I don't plan to extend the warranty, I've had too much bad luck with dealer mechanics. I like to do the work myself, but then I know how to do most of it and I have a place to do it. It kind of burns me that I have to take the bike in for even one servicing.
