Tips for riders that wear glasses

Hey all,

New rider and I wear glasses. I tried on various helmets and found that I liked modular helmets since it was easier for me to put on my glasses while the chin bar was up.

I would like to get a new helmet that is snell 2010 approved and HI VIZ but most modular helmets are only DOT. I also find that my glasses bounce inside the helmet during high speeds. Could this be due to the helmet being too big or that modulars are not as tight as regular full face helmets?

Any tips from veterans that wear glasses under the helmet?

Thanks for any info!

I don't think its the room for the glasses with a full face but the initial start-up of having to put glasses on bike and then put helmet on and reverse when the rides over.

Is the convenience of modular worth the extra weight and noise?
I hated wearing glasses so much with helmets that I got lasik eye surgery to correct my vision. Contacts just bothered my eyes too much.
Yeah its the initial start up. Today I purchased a Shoei RF-1100, upgrading from a HJC CL-MAX 2 Modular.

Glasses fit fine with the full face however I still find it easier to put on and take off glasses with modulars because you can have the chin guard in the up position. However its not a deal breaker for me. To me that was the only slight benefit of having a modular helmet. Modulars help a bit when talking to others when the talk is not long enough to warrant full helmet removal. Its better talking with a chin guard up than just the face shield open. Again these are still minor and I absolutely LOVE the RF-1100 helmet. Its only my second helmet but I just cant believe how much better everything is over the HJC.

I don't think I can do contacts. Its either lasik or live with riding with glasses.
I first started riding with glasses on but it became really uncomfortable so I got contact lenses... Best thing ive ever done

For Modular helmets between $200-$300, are the models from Bell, Nolan, Scorpion, HJC the best choices?
Any feedback on these helmets?
I wear glasses, an I'm using an Arai Astro-IQ full face (japanese version), which is the RX-Q in north america. The liner has 2 slots at the glasses arm height which works very well. You can look into that as well. :D
I would have bought the Shoei Multitec if it had an internal visor. I can't justify spending twice the amount for a Neotec just to get a visor. At the price point of $300, every other vendor offers an internal visor.

Between a Nolan N90 (revzilla $220) and a HJC Symax 3 ($270), which one would be better?

I like the pinlock feature on Nolan but prefer the look of the Symax, I just find it strange that the visor lever is on top of the helmet.

Any feedback?
