There were a few times now where I shift up, roll on throttle and it would proceed as normal, but then all of a sudden, the revs jump up.

I think maybe the gear dropped down without locking in? Is this possible?

I'm leaning towards this being rider error, not positively flicking up the shifter, but I'm just curious if this happened to anyone else.

Sounds like you're not fully shifting up all the way. It happened to me once.

Either that or you've still got fingers on the clutch lever. For having such a long pull, the engagement zone starts really far out there. I've experienced the same thing a few times and that was the issue.
