I've done basic stuff on the bike before lol. I have issues with things that are torqued very tight though.

30ft/lb isn't that tight. Might just be some threadlock on the nut that you have to crack to get it to come loose?

I've noticed a lot of things that I've messed with on the bike were rather tight for me. I'll try again when I have a reason to haha.

Considering the nut is normally never touched for the most part, I will whip out the black Plasti Dip and see how it takes. Will post some pics this weekend for opinions.

$30 for an anodized closed nut is a little expensive for my taste, especially when the finish doesn't match.

I'm in the same position. I don't like the silver nut, but for $30 I'll pass for now.

Painting the stock gas cap is a very easy and cheap fix for that. I just painted the ribbed surround, still 100% better than before.

So use a 30lb torque and use that to unscrew stock and screw on new? Also did you put locktight with the new stem?

The longest part of doing that for me was taping up the parts I didn't want painted like the actual centre parts, I only wanted the surround black. Just do light coats though, otherwise the paint very quickly fills in between the ribbed areas on the surround, and then it looks pretty shit. I put it on too thick the first time, and then did it again with very light coats. Now it looks mint.

yeah i think thats exactly what i will try and do, just that silver ribbed part, sucks tho because i am terrible with spray paint! haha just gotta remember light coats and patience, thanks for the tips

I am thinking of Red for accent. I have the Green SE and there is a bit of red on the decal. not to mention the RED kill switch.

What do you guys think... Red Tree nut, Green adjustable levers with RED adjuster accent, and Red Oil cap. Thoughts?
