on a more serious side of things, is this a silly simple take out the screw and put the new one in or is it more complicated then that?
mine will more than likely be delivered tomorrow and I don't want to take the nut out and the bike falls apart.
Its supposed to put pressure on the locking nut underneath the top triple so as to keep it from coming loose. The stem bolt is supposed to be torqued down before the bolts that clamp the fork tubes to the triple are tightened. As to of you can drill and tap a hole in the bolt yea shouldnt be an issue seeing as the ssr ones are hollow. Wont weaken it enough to cause any issues.
