Hi everyone.

I was just wondering if I can put reflective tape on my jacket to be more visible at night. I have black ninja 300 and black leather jacket. Do you think it's a good idea?
Also, where can I find it?

Thanks.

I just went to WalMart to buy one of those construction vests (available in orange or yellow) that already have reflective stripes on them. $15

I'm matte black on black on black... Was trying to get the white... Anyways, to make the jacket mod even more temporary, just gather a bunch of reflective material and make it into a sash (http://compare.ebay.com/like/290684302349?var=lv&ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar -- Google additional results "reflective sash")

Also, you can get a red bike light and attach it to the rear-seat handle. Just make sure your break lights are brighter/more prominent than your supplemental light.

Examples:
Standard bike tail lights:

Tron tail light:

Those were all for bicycles....the last would not work on a motorcycle, tire revolution is too high.
The lane laser is kind of neat, but seeing as the motorcycle is wider than the bike it might not shine on the road surface unless you mounted it under the tail section.

Right?! Yea, the last one isn't designed for motorcycles. The concept is still freakin cool though! All the previous links are for bicycles. I guess I wasn't super clear on that, but we all share the same visibility problems. The Tron light is also a pretty cool concept. The "lane" width depends on how high up it is -- the higher it is, the wider the lane. So yep, the tail section is how I would do it if I were to buy this. It also has LEDs with 3 modes -- solid on, flash all LEDs, & sequential flash in which LEDs flash in a sequential manner. The most practical one for "active" illumination are solid lights. Lastly, you could buy a LED armband (disclaimer: for runners). Here is an example: http://www.rei.com/product/808621/runners-world-led-armband Personally, I'm probably gonna go with no night riding. If someone twisted my arm though, I'd carry a neon green sash with reflective tape next to my toolkit in the trunk. Maybe throw a LED armband or two in there.

If it were me, I wouldn't want to ruin a nice leather jacket by putting reflective tape on it. Not to mention it might look a bit weird during the day when your off your motorcycle. Why not get a nice hi-viz reflective vest? You can store it under your seat and if you are out after dark can just put it on over the jacket.

Something like this should be fine, and only a tad more expensive than tape:
