I've got some shogun rear spool sliders and they're great.

10mm! Except I've heard KTM 10mm's won't work. (cbzdel, I believe)

Do you use this with the engine idling in 1st on a rear stand?
I can't imagine it being dangerous for anything but itself.
I still wouldn't risk cleaning it with the engine running.. I've seen some bad pictures of peoples hands being pulled through the sprocket..

I 2nd cleaning the chain with the engine off and manually turning the wheel yourself. Save yourself a hand. =)

If someone saying it doesnt convince you do a google search for cleaning motorcycle chain by hand.

So I just have to ask, is there some better way to lift the front ie spools or something? the stands I got are the trackside ones and the front just has a rubber pad that the forks sit on but they are very slick and have had it slide off when putting it on the stand.

Yeah I wouldn't even consider doing it. It's pretty easy to spin the wheel with your hand anyway.
