Dealer took the bike apart last week. He said "we have taken the head and barrels off and found the left big end bearing has gone."
far out! a bigend bearing gone with only 3000k on the clock:eek:.
i doubt its cos of the way you broke it in, im more willing to bet these things come of a factory line and every now and then one of them will not be up to scratch.

could be as simple as not being properly torqued up at the factory correctly & not your fault at all, thanks heavens for warranty!

Eh.. Unless you get the really hard locking stuff, it's not a big deal. I've got the blue stiff and it comes of easy enough.. OK maybe "everything" was a bit if an exaggeration, but I thread lock a lot of stuff.. Too much vibration..

the "blue stuff" is medium loctite. its generally *WAY* too much strength for most applications anyhow

you usually want the low strength, loctite 222 the pink stuff works well

and if it is small screw like fairing screws use some of your wifes/girl friends clear nail polish;)

after while you get to hear every rattle/vibration/noise the bike makes & learn what’s normal & what’s not. having said that you should still be able to hear it with the helmet on even if it is a snug fit helmet
