A Prius can be deceptively quick in very low speed situations. An electric motor has all of its torque available to it instantly would only be limited by the traction controller. Also since the car's a tandem hybrid system, it's going to be pretty quick to 30-40 mph. When the electric motor pretty much completely checks out is when the ninja will smoke the Prius. The only issue is, the Prius has about the same top speed as the ninja does so you're not going to stop speed yourself away from a Prius on a Ninja 300 with the average weight of a male. Your best bet is to out accelerate and maintain top speed where both vehicles will maintain distance and you're just waiting to see who runs out of gas or overheats first. The rider in this video got caught playing the Prius' game as the electric motor on that Prius loves 0-15 mph and can be deceptively quick off the line.

Of course it could be said that the riders could have just not screwed with the driver and this whole thing would never have happened. But it also be said that these riders never did anything warranting straight up murder so the driver jumping straight to the end of the use of force triangle was the worst offense of all. This just goes back to what I've said many times before. People change when they get behind the wheel of a vehicle and the other people that they're interacting with are smaller than them. They find themselves in a rare position of power and exploit it to its fullest. If he were out of his car or this happened in the street, he probably wouldn't have gone from 0 to murder instantly like this otherwise he'd probably still be in prison.

Thank you for sharing your insights on the Prius and its acceleration capabilities. It's interesting to note that the electric motor can provide instant torque, which can make the Prius quick off the line in low-speed situations. However, as you mentioned, the ninja may have an advantage in situations where the Prius' electric motor is not as effective. It's important for riders to be aware of their vehicle's strengths and weaknesses, and to make strategic decisions based on those factors.
