Anybody have a suggestion on where to pick up some replacement quick rivets? I broke one off underneath the passenger seat

I'm thinking Lowes or Autozone would have these but i'm not sure of the exact diameter and head size.....any suggestions?

Yes, I know i'm an idiot..

If you push upwards firmly from the bottom of the rivet they come right out and can be reused. You have to get it just right though. I'm sure Kawasaki use the same rivets on all their bike. Like Cbzdel said, the dealer is the best place to start.

for those of us who live in Australia/New Zealand have a look at your local supercheap auto store

http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/

usually at the back of the shop near parts counter they have a rack filled with parts by "champion" they have all sorts of bolts, fasteners, body clips etc for next to nothing in price that will do the trick

My Dad figured out the trick with the Quick rivets. If you push the center part IN first with an allen key or something small they pull right out! Push IN on the center then PULL the entire rivet and housing out. EUREKA!

Yea, I figured that out on the first one as their are no tabs. To replace them, fully extend the rivet then pop the center back flush.

$8 for 100

I know this thread is old but it is the main one google pulls up when searching "Rivets ninja 300" so I figured I would update it here. I couldn't stand to purchase a rivet for 2 dollars from kawasaki, so I tried 4 different ebay ones till I stumbled upon these last week (I refused to buy any that charge more than 20 cents per rivet). All measurements are the exact same as the stock ones besides the top head flare. It fits fine for the spots that dont have a recess, but for the ones that do need to sit in a recessed part I just trim the rivet top in slightly with wire cutters. Very snug and work like a charm!

I couldn't find a better deal than this, I just color the tops with sharpie and they work perfect.
