This thread is the build history of my 2013 ninja 300

Hello everyone! Ive been lurking around the website for awhile and decided to join and introduce myself and my new bike. I just turned 27 and I live in the northeast US. Im not new to forums as I'm fairly active on audizine where I learn how to lose money modding my 2011 audi s4; and will undoubtably do here!

A little background, I have never ridden a motorcycle before and this is my very first bike; a new 2013 ebony ninja 300. I will probably outgrow this bike on the very first ride (jokingly) but its a bike I bought to learn on. Its a bike I feel will stick around for awhile as my wife will learn on it as well and eventually it will become hers when I upgrade to the bike I really want; a daytona 675. I got this ninja for 5 even OTD.

Very much looking forward to sharing the build process of this bike!

Ryan

this bike is a highly underrated bike with a list of accessories for it that is a mile long, including the undertail in the photo you posted above

I hear ya! I wouldn't have bought it if there was something wrong with it ;) I plan on having a lot of fun with this bike, both riding and modding

Let me know if you out grew it on your first ride. Would love to hear about the daytona 675 after :)
In fact, you might not outgrow it at all. You might want both in your garage. I have just started playing with mine (101km as of now), but I can already tell that if I decide on yet another bike it will be in addition to, and not instead of, this Ninjette. :D

Ya my plan is to learn on this bike and ride it for awhile. It will become my wife's (will lower it) and I will buy a new bike. Really looking forward to it coming in. Already have some mods purchased which I will post all with pictures :)

lol judging by your first post I don't think you realize how we generally think on this forum.

80% of our riders(guesstimate) are 1st time riders that bought brand new 300s...I wouldn't start with an old 250 either. Also if you believe you will outgrow your 300 the first time you get on it you are very sadly mistaken. You could do a trackday a month for a year and still have stuff to learn on this bike. You might want to take a little bit more level headed approach to riding though...stay safe, keep the rubber side down and the shiny side up.

As you are well aware, tone is a very hard thing to judge on a forum. I was more or less being sarcastic when I said I would outgrow it on my first ride; I know that is not the case. I plan on keeping this bike for a long time :) it will become my wife's bike eventually as I will probably crave more power sooner than later. Again, the bike I really want is the 675 (in addition to this bike) but believe I am taking a level headed approach to riding and working my way up to an ss bike

Great pictures by the way! Was it professionally photographed? I like how the surroundings are very rich and vivid in color. I wish I had these kind of pictures riding my bike. Cheers!

Thank you, I appreciate the comments. I took these pictures right before my winter wheel swap back in november. I certainly don't consider myself a professional; just an enthusiast. I hope to have some pictures of my bike next week!

My bike came in today and was suppose to be delivered but unfortunately with the snow, I will have to wait just a little longer.

However, some other cool stuff came in today...

Bunch of s&s stuff. couple of ss1500 helmets, jacket, and gloves.

I sort of agree, you cant have a build thread when you arent building anything. I dont think everyone needs their own build thread anyway unless you are doing something out of the ordinary, otherwise it just gets lost as background fodder and makes for a cluttered forum. This is the sort of thing you have your own build thread for:

http://www.kawasakininja300.com/forum/12-ninja-300-appearance-modifications/1787-slingshot-racing-carbon-fiber-parts-my-tricked-out-ninja-300-a.html

Of course if you have done something really special or different or want to let others know where to get a particular mod/item from, by all means. But wait until you get the bike at least first and actually start to do some mods.

Simply use threads already available such as these:
