You used plastidip as a base layer? Is that so you can remove it? You did no prep to the surface besides washing?
sheesh old3... ok one question at a time :) (wow i cant believe old3 is asking ME for advice yay me i did somethin right!)

Yes plasti dip was the first layer so i can remove it if i dont like it

Sanded it with 600 grit till smooth, than washed it than plasti dip

Yes i take pride in my work. Used 6 coats of plasti dip as base layer
than sanded the plasti dip relatively smooth

Then 5 coats krylon blue, wet sanded than 5 more coats, wet sanded
again than 2 more coats than gloss

That remains to be seen! ;)

I doubt I'd use the plastidip as my base. You sanded the base plastic, right? It isn't like you can peel it off and leave it as new, you will still need to paint it again?

I've never played with that stuff but I never got the impression it was a good base coat just by how easily I read it is peeled off.

actually the base plastic is less dark than plasti dip so yes i can peel it and leave it original but the krylon came out much better than i hoped. just wait the finished bike will be stunning

Looks good. The downside with using a clear coat over that (even if Plasti-Dip is the base coat); it will chip off in pieces. Not peel off like all the You Tube videos out there.

I Plasti-Dipped the heat shield pieces of my exhaust. Love the clean look.
