Hi,

I was wondering how long everyone had to wait for their bikes? I have been waiting over 2 months for my bike and I keep getting the 'maybe another week' line from the dealer.

I was told one month and so far it has been 10 weeks and they still have no idea of an arrival date.

You get it from bikebiz in Granville?
No I ordered it from City Sydney motors. I made contact with Kawasaki who informed me that it is not the dealers fault rather it is kawasaki who can not keep up with the demand. Also doesn't help that the stock is distributed on dealer/kawasaki relationship.

I live in NZ and my the distributor told me that even they had no clue on where shipments are, they only get contacted when the ship is in the harbour... hence the dealer can only throw you random dates and just keep on delaying... i ordered a standard stardust white on 2nd of Oct... and I just got my bike 5 days ago...
I got my SE a week after it was released (2 months ago) non ABS, i didn't wanna wait months and if you're living in Queensland and even NSW you're not gonna need them anyway. That slipper clutch and the brakes are brilliantly safe, no locking of the rear wheel whatsoever. If you happen to ride on icy roads as Victoria sometimes gets, well the ABS's are something worth considering. By the way i got the first SE delivered in OZ. Enjoy your ninjas everyone!!
When i ordered mine early this month they gave me a rough run down on the waiting times to expect.
black or green SE - 3 weeks
white or ABS models - 3 months
i bought mine (Black non ABS) 4 weeks ago from Newcastle Kawasaki and they had 6 bikes sitting there in all colours and ABS and Non ABS but where i went first on the Central Coast which was also a kawasaki dealer they had none at all and couldnt get me one in any colour for approx 2 monthsso its worth a call around to see what is available

That's an interesting theory. You only need ABS in icy conditions?

You do realise the ABS stops both wheels from locking up, not just the rear?

When I bought mine (Almost 4 weeks ago), I was told from a few different dealers that the next shipment of black and whites with or without ABS are due in sometime in Jan. Could be bullshit but from multiple sources, seems legit.
I was told the same I have to wait to jan

cancel the order and shop somewhere where you can find 300. i walked into my dealer, saw the bike test drove, and walked out with my new bike. that was less than 2 weeks ago. 2 months is too long.

Agree 100%, more than 2 weeks is too long. If Kawasaki wanted my money then they can get me a bike there asap which is exactly what my dealer did.

Cant stress the importance of shopping around, no two dealers are the same and as someone has already mentioned is basically on the basis of the dealer/kawasaki relationship as to how long it takes to get your bike.
