Hi, I'm new to this forum. I am a new rider and planning to buy a ninja 300 with abs in about a month. The only thing is I'm not really a fan of lime green color. Do you guys know or have you hears if they are about to release the abs model on different colors? Thanks!

Hi cbzdel, thanks for replying on my post. I've read on one of the motorcycle magazine that they have different colors in addition to ebony, green and white. They have the gray and red though I dont know if they come with abs and they probably are being offered in some other countries but not here in US. Oh well, i guess I'd keep watching out maybe they'll eventually sell them here in US.

Anyone know how possible it is to buy a bike in Canada and bring it to the US? I've got some friends up there I would love to visit in the next year or two, may be a good way to get a unique color in Southern California ;D

Very nice color scheme. Unfortunately that colour scheme doesn't appear to be available for the 300. From what i can see, markets that are not getting the 300 will be getting a revamped 2013 250R with the exact same styling as the 300. From my digging, the only market I know of so far that got the 2013 Ninja 250R is Indonesia:

I for one will be picking up the Ebony/Metallic Moondust Gray in early March. I was at a dealership today to check out the non ABS models on the show floor. The Passion Red looks even better in the flesh. Non ABS models assembled yet, but the salesman said that they have the ABS models in crates and could get me one as early as next week if I paid right there. Hopefully I can get some pictures of one on the show floor.

I am guessing the CAN version has the same emissions equipment as the US versions?? If this is the case I see no reason why you couldnt import one. The issue would become cost, if I remember they are alot more expensive up there, especially when you compare the US dollar to the CAN dollar..

But if you are set on it, I heard a story once, about a guy going across the boarder with a trailer and buying a bike. Told the dealer it was begin bought for OFF ROAD USE ONLY (aka Racing). That way they do not license it, they just sell it to you and give you a certificate of origin. Then you take it home and go and apply for a title, it may require an inspection...

That was just a story I was told.. Not sure if it was true or if it could still even happen that easily.

I second the price issue. Even if you could swing just the MSRP + tax on the Ebony/Metallic Moondust Grey (The best deal I could get), the tax in most places is pretty high compared to the USA. Add on the weird "smaller country" tax Kawasaki can pull off charging Aussies and Canucks, you will be paying more than the converted price.

Currently one CAD = 0.9946 USD
MSRP on the Moondust ABS bike is $5999 CAD or 5966.6054 USD (converted)

Factoring in the tax in Ontario @ 13% we get 6778.87 + some random admin fee and I got charged 6832.52 CAD / 6795.62 USD. Meanwhile you'd pay a MSRP of 5499 USD / 5528.69 CAD for the same bike, different SE paint scheme in the USA.

Then there is probably some fee to import a vehicle over the boarder...so the question is how much money do you want to spend in Canada VS a custom paint job...factoring in travel and time too

To get the moon dust bike I think it might be esasier to get a black bike, because the tank is black along with the plastic under the seat and the front fender. Then paint the front fairing and rear seat plastics the moon dust color and then buy the sticker package from Kawi.. Seems like you could pull all that off for about $500 or so??

sweeeeeeet :D

Wow, that thing is stacked with mods. He even put a 180/55 in the rear.. Looks like he had to change out the rims to get it to work. Spoke pattern is different. Anyone know what exhaust that is?

Edit: upon further research, that is a 2013 Ninja 250 from Indonesia. They will not get the 300 so that is the update they got.
It could be the extra wide rim that was made for 250R.. I dont remember what company made it but I think it was $500 or so and I think it looked identical to the stock wheel just wider..

It is a pain. At least the speedo is digital and can switch to km/h
