I just traded my ZX6r for a ninja 300. Not really a reason, have just seen these, and thought it might be fun to play with. And since I've ridden the zx less than 100 miles in the last year, figured I couldn't lose. Most of my riding is distance on a Harley Ultra, the other bike is mostly just for toying around on the back roads. And a supersport just isn't the most comfortable ride.

Welcome, you'll have a blast on this bike.

A few things to look into is suspension, the rear is fine for a 200 lbs rider, but the fork springs need to upgrade, OEM is too soft, doesn't match the rear.

After that I'd say tires, then if needed upgrade brake pads to HH.

I own 2 Ninja 500(91 & 07) and Pregen 250(98 with 300 engine) for many years now, gotta love these small parallel twin engines.

Also these engines don't hold a lot of oil, check it before every ride, it's the #1 killer of them, also coolant.

Welcome to the insanity of small displacement bikes! The husband unit just sold his Panigale 1199 for a KTM 609 SMC and we're thinking he'll most likely pick up a R3 or a Ninja 400 in the spring.

I vote for the Ninja 400, or a Ninja 500
