I wear full leather over the ankle boots and jeans.
The boots are great, but honestly, jeans are worthless in a crash. I've seen too many people loose too much skin, sorry. You should really consider getting some riding pants. :D

I've been eyeing these jeans: http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dainese-d1-kevlar-armor-ready-jeans

The previous D1s have padded knee protection, but nothing substantial. These new ones can have real knee protection for the maximum safety you could get from a jean. Unlike other jeans that are simply a heaver denim with a kevlar patch sewn into the high abrasion areas, these have kevlar woven throughout the fabric + the patches. I also like the length. I'm skinny and tall and always have problems finding jeans that fit me.

With the styling, and woven kevlar, they are really pricey, but I'm probably gonna save up for a pair with the added armor.

Don't know if you know, but the 2013 Dainese Kevlar D1 jeans are the same kevlar woven jean material, but they have built in pockets for a knee & shin guard. They are supposed to be available this spring (according to RevZilla) I'm getting a pair for quick rides around town. :D
