Locking your helmet to the rear seat cowl?

Hello guys

Im new to riding and have enjoyed all 100kms that i have ridden on my 300 thus far.

Can anyone show me how to lock your helmet to the rear seat cowl of the bike? Are there some trick or function i have not learned yet?

Any help would be great,

thanks!

Remove rear seat. Hook one of the metal rings onto one of the hooks located closer to the front of the bike. Put seat back on.

Just remember that while that might seem convenient, the lock doesn't prevent someone from just cutting the strap and stealing your helmet.
Does this still work well if you replace the seat with the cowl?

Not sure if the cowl has the same gap / give in it to allow for a metal helmet buckle and strap to pass between it and the bike.
Oh right, I forgot people have solo cowls. I've never had one so I can't help there.

yeah thats what i thought? Anybody with a good pair of scissors and im $400 out of pocket!

i think maybe its worth looking at some lock i can put around the physical chin bit of the helmet with the visor up?

Any lock that would be convenient to carry while on the bike, would also be really easy to cut with wire / bolt cutters (not even a really big pair would be necessary).

If someone wants your helmet, they will get it.

If you are worried about theft, the only guarantee you have is carrying the helmet with you.

I'm just wondering why you bought a $400 helmet? And a bicycle lock would do what you just explained
I saw a guy at the mall that had a bag locked to his bike that he could lock his helmet inside.

I have 3 $800 AGV's, I'd never leave them on my bike :(
I've also heard stories off assholes pissing in helmets left on bikes. No thanks...

Yep. The cowl has a little gap on one side to pass a helmet strap through.

$400 is still on the beginner/cheap side of the helmet world... I don't think I've seen a Shoei under $400.

Well ****. I guess I didn't search hard enough. I just upgraded to the Exo-1100 Street Demon. Retails 299.95 but I picked it up on ebay for $165. Sniped that deal with seconds to go. It's really comfortable and I love the graphic scheme.

speaking of ebay i'm still waiting for my jacket i got that i wanted and ordered last week... :(

ad said it would take about 5 business days for payment to clear/handling/packaging... i guess it should be here sometime this week but still...
Funny about helmet prices.
I did my pre learner course and took my shoei that cost $800 some of the other learner thought i was mad spending that and were looking at only spending $200 on a helmets.
Ive seen other post on here saying all helmets are the same but after talking to a crash scene investergator I can tell you now there not .
A coffin will cost more then a good helmet

Good thinking. Better safe than sorry.
