What kind of gps's are you using and what method of installation you have used if its a GPS or a smart phone as a GPS.

Is there any way to charge it while riding?

I just use my iPhone for GPS. Since I listen to music with my earphones, I can also hear turn by turn navigation on my which is really helpful!
As for charging it, I know someone has installed a 12v power adapter so you can turn to that.

I use my iPhone as well for GPS

If you have a iPhone life proof makes a waterproof case you can also purchase a handle bar mount from them that just attaches to one of the bars by the clutch.

I also have a 12v plug for my bike, I just haven't had a chance to install it yet, but with that I will beable to charge my phone with a car charger.

I use a map most of the time lol I keep an road atlas in my car.

But If i need a gps I have one, its a garmin.... uhhh 255? idk what it is. its a 4 year old gps. works decent. isnt always accurate though... I use it mostly as a mini portable map.

I also installed a 12v cigg plug on ym bike for just such cases as when i want to use my gps, or when i need to charge my cell phone.

I have an app on my iphone metroview http://www.metroview.com.au/iphone.html cost me $15AUD just set it up put headphones on and put the phone in my pocket. Has voice guidance so your not distracted by glancing down all the time at the screen of a gps. usefull and cheap i think theres a few free ones out there too!

the iphone its self has a navagation... you dont have to get an app for it. its nice cause you can listen to your music, then when it tells you directions it lowers your music volume and then goes back to normal after its done talking. gotta love siri.

Shame, I have the 3GS still lol 6 more months left.
Was entertaining the idea of suction cupping a cheap $90 gps unit on the windsield sitting ontop of the dash, but then realized that would be the end of my life.

If you are going the suction cup option be sure to get a big suction cup i got the tomtom start 2. The issue is that the suction cup is very small, http://www.techradar.com/reviews/car-tech/tom-tom-gps-and-sat-nav/tomtom-start2-683489/review (scroll down about half way)

I have the touring screen and i can get the go pro to suction cup in the middle of the top. (havent tried on the highway yet)
