Just wondering if any of you guys are going to fit the waterproof GPS units for city commuting to your new 300s?

TOM TOM makes one called the rider pro, looks good would be a nice touch to the Digital dash :D

I just use my phone, personally. Set my destination before I leave, have the directions spoken through my helmet as I ride. Having one of these ones stuck to my handlebars seems like a needless distraction.

I'm thinking about getting the G9 too primarily for listening to fm radio and music through my iphone but with a $300 price tag i'm thinking it may be overkill....still though, the unit looks sweet.

Never cheap on out hetlmet bluetooth.

You can get one for under $100 but it will be terrible. Poor sound quality, poor interface/controls.

Scala's are worth the price premium.

Anyone got any suggestions for a weatherproof/waterproof GPS what will fit in the genuine kwaka tank bag

https://www.kawasaki.com.au/genuine-accessories/motorcycles?view=categories&partnumber=K57003114

dimensions of the hole for the GPS in the bag is

134mm wide x 104mm high x 33mm deep

one idea i had was to put this in the hole in the bag

http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=QM3792

and put the gps in the bag as im an all weather rider and need something that will take a beating from getting wet.....

mmmmmm... food for thought

this looks good, but i wonder what else is around

I've got a Garmin Nuvi 50LM. It was like $100. Not waterproof, but I've used it successfully a few times. I used the M8 handlebar bolt ball mount for RAM mounts with their Garmin specific GPS mount.

There isn't enough "weather" around here and I don't anticipate trips requiring a GPS when there is weather so I didn't want to splurge for the almost $500 waterproof GPS units.

The waterproof aspect imo is not worth the premium price. What I do is carry sandwich bag use that if it starts to rain. I've heard of people use condoms for weather protection.

i found an inexpensive weather proof GPS device for a motorcycle. first off, buy a Garmin Nuvi 4.3 inch like this with free maps for the lifetime of the unit

http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/car-sound/gps/garmin-nuvi-essential-42lm-4-3-gps-unit/689271

and then to make it weather proof, search ebay on

4.3 weatherproof garmin

and you will find this for just $12

Solved! weatherproof GPS for under $120!!

Awesome stuff

The Scala SHO-1 was worth absolutely every penny ($331 shipped to US from Spain - motocard) - I use that + my phone for GPS.
