Good find. A lot of good points there too.
Not to be rude but i have a question :I just did it yesterday. Typically go 5-10 MPH faster so that's only like a total of 15-20 mph. Stay safe and watch out for sudden lane changes or people doing stupid crap because they are mad we can do this. I hate seeing people split lanes when it is not needed. If I'm in my large truck going 75 I am not expecting to share a lane with a bike coming up on my right at 90+. Be smart, stay safe and it will stay legal.

I gave a specific example. Are you one that feels like it is ok to do what I was talking about? 90+ when people aren't expecting you is an unsafe manner. If I move slightly in my lane traveling at that speed will send you flying. Making lane splitting illegal is a constant debate because people abuse it by doing it while speeding and splitting the lanes at a much faster speed then the flow of traffic. There is a reason it is illegal in most states. I know there are times when it is a matter of opinion, but I am talking about the times when it is absolutely absurd. I just listed what I personally feel comfortable with. When freeway traffic is going 35+ I do not split lanes, but I see nothing wrong with others doing it up to the speed limit. Not to be rude but i have a question :
What do you mean you hate seeing people split lanes when it is not needed
What makes you the one to determine when it is needed or not
Not trying to start a fight i just dont get how people think it is their
decision on such things. It shouldn't affect you one way or the other
if someone splits lanes as long as they are not doing it in an unsafe manner
and the article defines what is the proper way to do it so i fail to see the problem
*Secret handshake*Thanks for the info, always good to know! By any chance are you on r/motorcycles![]()
