On the extreme blaster website it says "Removing plates increases back pressure" and "Adding plates decreases back pressure". http://gsxrexhaust.com/index.html

This seems counterintuitive.

First of all, do we all agree backpressure is essentially resistance? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Back_pressure

Am I missing something here? Or, is the information on their website backwards.

Thanks,

It may be like a SuperTrapp muffler where the plates are at the end of the muffler and have spaces between them so you add more there are more openings.

Aha! Got it. The length of the opening depends on how many discs there are.

I was picturing a fixed opening length.
