Not taking my Motorcycle class till next weekend but I placed a deposit on the bike today since the dealer gave me 5,500 OTD, next best I could find was 5,709 in houston so I bit on his deal. I have 90 days to pick it up and pay for it or i lose the deposit but I plan on picking it up this month. I already ordered the sprocket out of excitement to start modding it.

Anyways! My name is Chris, I'm about to be 22 and I live in houston, and I can't wait to start riding even though I'm scared at the same time. My only experience is about 2 hours on a GSXR 1000 that my step dad has and man that thing is scary lol. My friends are giving me soooo much **** for getting a 300 but it seems like everyone that gives it a chance loves it, plus it's going to be a commuter bike and the 87 octane and 70mpg is a ++++. This is my current ride

I think they are going to look sick in the garage together...and a pic of the bike:

/endrant...lol

welcome and that will be one nice garage to walk into.
Congrats!

The 300 is a great tool for the street and skill is far more important that displacement on both the street and track. Learn to ride well and a 300 can be a vehicle you can continue to be educated on for a lifetime.
Nice rides for a 22 year old!! :)
Agreed, very nice! I hope the OP isn't burying himself in debt [apart from the requisite college debt]. I had a Bimmer when I was in my early 20's, but it was a college-budget oldie. :p

Is that a 1addicts.com sticker I see on there? ;)

yessir to the 1addicts.com ... I got lucky and bought a townhome that was forclosed on for 69k, the unit next to me just sold for 129k and mine has 1 more bedroom and nicer options so I have a bit of equity even though i've only owned it for 3 years.

I'm doing pretty good savings but yes the bike and the 135i are financed so i do have a bit of debt. I am admittedly addicted to mods and cars but with a roommate and no girlfriend I'm in a good situation right now.

oh and no college debt, self taught IT systems administrator so at least I have that going for me LOL
.........and no girlfriend I'm in a good situation right now.
Truth be told!! Thats the secret to saving money!! :D
congrants man! im counting down the days til i get my bike
I've been riding 40 years and I'm afraid of a GSXR 1000 too, but more afraid of girls. The 300 is much more user friendly. It's just now getting to be good riding weather in Texas.
Love the 1er! My cousin has a 135 and loves it. I almost bought a white 300, but my wife talked me into the SE.
