Not from your area, but might be riding from Montreal to Kannapolis in late May...Is that near you at all. We'd be doing the Dragon from there and heading to DC for Rolling Thunder. Be my second time doing that trip.

We see 2 or 3 around here (Mooresville) but not sure if they are on the forum or not.

Yeah sorry about that. the Triad does refer to the Piedmont Triad, which consist of Greensboro, High Point, and Winston-Salem.

I haven't seen any 300s. When I went out Sunday people were looking all cross eyed like I was riding a 3 legged unicorn
Since sportbiking is so popular here, most people start on 600CCs. Not sure how well 300 sales are here

I bought the bike as a long overdue gift for my wife. Now that it's out of the break in period, all I'll get to do is wash it and change the oil.

I'm really interested in seeing what improvements Kawi makes to the 2014 model. If they are not super significant, I'll likely be shopping for a gently used 600 this fall.

Should be riding this time next year.

I'm in Wilmington/Raleigh. I split time between the two cities. But my 300 stays in Raleigh. We do some rides from the Triangle that take us up through the Triad on occasion. Quickest way to get to some mountains :)
I'll be moving to Raleigh for Good in May, I currently have a 250 (with a 300 in progress of purchasing by June).

I'd love to hang with moto people since i know noone in that area.

Just hit the BP on Capital Blvd on any sunny weekend and you'll meet hundreds of bikers. If you don't know where it is, just ask anybody about it and they'll tell you. That gas station has more bikes in the parking lot than a dealership. Most small group early AM rides use the BP as the final destination so there's tons of riders there socializing and swapping stories about the ride or upcoming events. You do get some posers who just ride from the garage to BP and back home but for the most part it's a good crowd

As far as the new law, I will wear a lid anyway. I never even like the idea of a half shell. Full face helmet for me at the very minimum. It's going to be weird seeing people with no lid.
