Did a nice recomended ride yesterday from Brisbane to Nimbin and back, 370 km from my house. Gets quite painful on your right wrist and arse in the middle of the second hour each way, so next time i'll be doing a 10 min stop every hour and a half. The bike was serviced two days before the trip for first time. She was excellent!!, the engine was just perfect, so plenty of extrapower that i wasn't able to use because of the speed limit. I have to admit that in a couple of situations i was doing way over that limit without even realizing it. This bike feels so easy that you forget you're only human and no matter how experienced or inexperienced you just push the bike more everytime you have a chance, and i'm not very proud saying that on one ocassion i was doing almost 130 k/hr, that worries m...e a little instead of making me happy cause is so easy to feel overconfident quicly. But what made me happy was that despite of that speed above mentioned, the bike was sitting on 8000 rpm only, and the throotle was like halfway through open, so i was doing that speed with another 5000 rpm remaining to get on warning levels. I'm only 62 kg. Overtaking cars was like piece of cake without droping gears, just by opening the gas in sixth gear and not even the bad boys in sport cars looking at you with increasing envy could catch you. I did not expect this bike to be that quick and eager for more. Is really an excellent bike in my opinion, apart from fairing issues and this and that, but she performs excellent everytime you ride it. Please take care, i've got scared a couple of times mostly for overconfidence resulting in speeding + really tricky turns and lots of painted big pot holes on the road just before getting to Nimbin, they don't make a good combination. But anyway the trip was really worth it, lots of different scenarios for practicing. Enjoy everyone, and again...take care. Happy new year everyone!
Something very important i did not mention before was the fuel consumption: filled the tank just before starting the trip, all bars to the roof on the screen and when i got back home i checked and there were "2"fuel bars left (still after 370 K's), that's pretty good.
