only takes a quick glance at your instrument cluster to see if its flashing, or better yet, dont look down, just press the button to cancel it

Still have this issue every once in a while myself. My V-Star 1100 has auto canceling so I never worried too much about it till now. You would think it would become standard equipment now a days.

the reason it doesnt is cos its something else that can go wrong and something else to add to the price to make it higher.the market the 300 is in, the bikes are built to a price, so you need to cut as many corners as you can to keep the price down

or you could run the wiring for the flasher thru a relay to turn the horn on/off with the indicator flashing, that would remind you to turn the indicator off, lol
