Started my bike this morning getting ready for a ride shifted to 1st gear but bike wouldn't move. Anybody know what the problem might be?

My first impulse was to ask if the bike was brand new...

Sounds like your clutch is gone. How much slack is in the clutch line? Does the clutch line physically move the little clutch arm on the right side of the engine? If it does, than the clutch is bad and needs replacing. Do you like to let the clutch slip a lot?

interesting, so the engine starts and you can pull the clutch, get it in to gear, release clutch and bike wont move???

is this correct?
Does the bike stall after this? And you try to move it whilst off and it wont move?

How are you sure that you're actually in first gear? If it doesn't stall and you can move it yourself the bike may not actually be engaging first gear, or the clutch may not be disengaging.

if you stand on the right side of the bike and look down you will see where the clutch cable connects near where your right foot goes on the peg, when you pull & release the clutch does it move down near your right foot?

You probably need to have the clutch replaced. How new is the bike? This is something that should definitely be covered over warranty if it had failed this early.

if you start the bike with the bike in neutral does the green neutral light come up on the instrument panel?

if you hold the clutch and kick down to first, does the green neutral light go off???
