Best fuel to use for bikes?

So boys and girls, just wondering what people put in their bikes and why? Iv been putting 95 in my 250 for the past couple of months now, have a feeling it might have clogged up the fuel injectors. But that's probably from long term use lol
Anywho, tried the 98 and noticed a bit of lag on the bike, wasn't pinging like on the 95... Might try it again next time fill up!
Thoughts? :D

Im fine using premium its only 10-13$ better then 50$ on a car right?http://www.motorcycle.com/mobile
after a few years of doing this and wasting extra cash on fuel you dont need, multiply that by a few years you own the bike, multiply that by a few million other people who do the same thing in their car/bikes regardless, thats a *SHITLOAD* of cash fuel companies are making
I'm sure once the 2013's are a few years old, we'll know which fuel was the best choice.

lol, so we're still having this debate?

IMO, we should only be putting in 110 octane race fuel in our bikes. Turns our 300 into a Super Sport!

My Uncle owns a limo company and has a account with shell, so one day he asked me how much is it to fill the bike, and I told him like $15, and he just told me to start using his account, lol. So all I have to do is go in and tell the guy what pump I want turned on, and they turn it on. :)
87 gas?

I usually run premium (93) in past bikes, but got into a discussion with a friend and since the 300 will run fine on 87 octane, he said i would make the best power with 87.

he was telling me you can make the most power with the lowest octane you can get by with without causing pre-detonation.

I was always under the impression you got better mileage and more power out of the highest octane gas you could buy.

So, which is it for max performance in the 300?
Lol in my area it's either 86 or 88 octane. I think there's 90 octane also.

Unless you're optimized for it higher, 87-89 octane is what the bike uses.

i basically want an area p full exhuast, fuel controller, and a k&n filter with snorkel delete...so with those mods, there is no advantage to using premiunm gas (power or mileage)?

That's because you live about 4000 ft above sea level. Move to Colorado or Utah and they sell 85 octane gas. It's the local "regular" and your bike will run just fine on it at high elevations, just don't load the bike up on a trailer, go to the coast, and expect the 85 octane gas to run without pinging there.

I have run 87 exclusively through my 300 and the ZRX1200R and see no advantage to running higher octane. Your engine won't make more power or get better gas milage unless it has a compression ratio that requires higher octane.
Octane is not energy or power, it is simply the fuel's abilty to run in high compression engines without detonating.
I use 93, but mostly for the add-ons to keep my engine running cleaner. Though I like to think it gives me more power :D
I`ve been using 93 since my first fill up after using the gas the dealer put in. But, I think I`m going to fill up with 87 next round just to see how it feels.

I have the same mods and straight from Kerry at AreaP:
"Always run the lowest octane possible without detonation. In most cases, on pump fuel, you will make better power with 87 octane."

If 87 octane gas is unkind to engines, my old ZRX1200 R sure had a funny way of showing it.

This is an interesting link. It pertains to cars in Australia so check the wiki link for the respective octane numbers for your country. It is basically a comparison on how much further milage you can obtain using different octane fuels...
