Another fairing issue!

Anyone else having an issue with the fairings sitting correctly?

My has been doing it for the past week and I was actually just searching the web and came across another forum where someone has the same issue. Since I dont have a picture I am borrowing theirs haha...

This is the issue, the fiaring no longer will stay put and just pops out to it staying like this..

I am going to take the fairing off and reinstall it, and it it does not fix the problem I am going to have the dealer fix it.. Because its like buying a car and the bumper popping out, its not right and should not be like that haha..

I'd do the same. Take it off and put it back on. If it still doesn't fit I'd go back to dealer to complain. We didn't buy brand new for no reason! Warranty.
sorry to hear that, i will have to keep an eye on mine, and see if it is popping out
Kawasaki quality :p.
No joke! The fairings on this bike are the worst I have ever seen by far! I have had aftermarket fairings that fit better!

Would you buy it again over the CBR250R? Less power, but Honda fitment and reliability.
I would just take it off and leave it off so it couldn't hurt me any more. Not a fan of fairings to begin with. I prefer to ride naked. Poor fitting fairings is often due to those pushup fasteners not holding properly. I find them in parking lots, presumably from cars. The ones on my 650r never fit properly and the bike came without one of the big bottom fasteners that probably fell off in shipment. Really, though I would let the dealer handle this. It would drive me nuts looking like that.

I am still happy with my bike, I would buy it again in a hear beat, but I just wish it was better quality fairing wise. That has been my only complaint with the bike. The fairings are so thin and poor fitting in comparison to the Ninja 250R. Its really a let down.. Not sure if that is because it was a new model or they really just didnt care to make it any better..

How do the controls themselves feel? Smooth and solid, or flaky and loose?
which controls? hand or foot?? the only thing that changed was the clutch pull which I prefer the shorter pull on the 300, other than that everything is the same

All of them I guess. It's important to me that the controls feel high quality.
Easy fix to the fairing issue.. Ball up your fist and smack it back into place:D I do that to mine every so often and it works like a charm!:p

I do that and it instantly pops back out :(
If you take it back to the dealer would they still fix it,they will know youve had the fairings off and could put it back on you? Depends on how good your dealer is I guess
I wouldnt take it off. I would take it back as is and let them know its happening quite frequently.

If you break a tap or strip something coming off or putting it back on they might give you grief. Not worth hassle in my mind.

Just take it to them.

Actually, I have never taken that side of the fairing off.. I took off the entire otherside, but nothing from the side with the issues..

I will need to go back to the dealer here in a few weeks to pick up a few oil filters so maybe I will just take the bike and let them know and see what they say..
wow, that sounds hateful, that would be such an ordeal for me, it would bug me every min

Hi, I'm new to the group. I have a fix for the cowling popping out, which happened to mine too. It's easy and you don't have to bother with taking the bike to the dealer.
Remove the side panel under the seat and fuel tank trim. Remove the screw at the rear point of the cowling by your knee if sitting on the bike (4mm allen Blue arrow). Loosen the bolt that holds the side cowling to the gas tank (10mm hex Red arrow). Push the cowling in where it popped out and towards the back and while holding it, tighten the fuel tank bolt. Then install the rear screw again which might not align well, but there's enough flex in the cowling to get it installed. No problems now.
