Painting Lower Fairing Non-Factory White; Will It Match?

I want to paint my lower fairing white but my 2014 is that pearl stardust white. I emailed color rite about thier aerosol can of matching paint but I was told by a person at a local paint ship that pearl has to be laid in a 2 step. The site from color rite doesn't say anything about that. I already have a full can of gloss white and uv resistant clear at home but how off or Non matching would the difference be. Any ideas?

I painted my side covers in a non-factory white and it looks pretty decent. Not a perfect match but I'll be doing a total re-paint at some point anyway (orange pearl).

Is the all white 2013 the same as the 2014? Just no decals?

If your white fairings have a "pearl" (pinkish-purple) sheen in the sunlight, then yes it is like the 2013. But, the pearl effect is really only there when you're standing next to the bike. It just looks white from every other viewing distance.

Here are my painted side-covers. Regular Krylon white! Fluorescent lights really bring out the 'blue' cast to the white pearl. In sunlight the difference is not quite so much.

very nice, I think ive seen pictures of your bike with those painted. being the lower fairing I think it will be even less noticeable.

btw are those the rosso II tires in the picture?

got them painted today but I let the damn tape touch one of the fairings when I was peeling it off and needless to say it pulled a bit of paint off. im just gona get a small bottle of acrylic paint and brush it on to cover it otherwise I am happy how they came out. will slap them on in the morning

The Colorrite website does indicate when they are 2-step paint jobs. It's why instead of just a "top" paint code, there's both a "base" and "top" paint code. You're supposed to buy and use both.
