Returning to a Ninjette

What's up everyone. I'm not really "new" I'm more just returning to the Ninja 250/300...

I was on this forum some years and years ago when I had a 2010 Ninja 250 Special Edition.

I've had my M1 License for almost 8 years and this will be my 8th Motorcycle! Lol. Dont ask, I was moving thru trades like water at one point.

I recently sold my 2005 Suzuki Katana 750 and lurking the marketplace on FB for about a month I landed on tons of ninja 300's available. Went and looked at a 03 Triumph Speed Triple last night and decided to pass on it because the registration was way overdue and required a lot of money just for late fees with the CA DMV.

I had been eyeballing a 2015 Ninja 300 with 35,000 miles on it for weeks....first listed at 2500, then dropped to 2000... decided to take a look at it in person and surprisingly the bike is in great shape, few scratches here and there but no major damages or cracked fairings. It has like new tires, great brakes, good clutch action and rode well. It idles great, revs great and I was impressed how well it was taken care of. For mods it is all stock except for a Saddleman Gel Seat and a fender eliminator kit.

The seller agreed to $1800 cash and we shook hands! Tonight I go back to hand over the money and sign the title! I'm freaking stoked. This is prob the best deal I've ever made.

I plan on getting a rear stand and some spools for maintenance and probably get a slip on exhaust. My 250 had the Two Bros carbon and i loved that system.

Bloody awesome!

(I still have my brother's Triumph Sprint St in my garage sitting next to my 300. He bought it in San Francisco and rode it out here to PA, and intends to ride it back to CA next year. Just looking at it, I prefer the 300! )

Pretty sweet deal! As long as it was well cared for it should have another 35k in it.

As much as I'd love to have the power and SOUND of the triple.....I had to pass it up for now. The MPG of the Ninja 300 will be great for my commute. Pretty much 95% of my riding will be to and from work which is 54 miles a day. I should end up using about a gallon a day. Compared to my VW Tiguan which drinks gas averaging 22mpg...ugh... I will not miss using 2.5 gallons a day almost....just for work!

Here she is. gave her a wipe down with some spray detailer after this photo. Rode it into work this morning and SOOOOO glad I did. There was a ton of traffic on the Coronado bridge so I just lane split all the way thru =)

That's a great bike for a great price.

I got the itch for another bike a few months back and took out a Ducatti Scrambler Cafe Racer. I expected to be blown away by the improvement over the Ninja 300 but I wasn't. The HP was a huge upgrade but it burned my leg in the 30 minutes I rode it in traffic. When I started looking at other bikes I had a hard time finding one that is as fuel efficient with great range. More horsepower requires more fuel used and not many bikes have a fuel tank as large as the Ninja 300. I was surprised.

Engineer rocketing through time and space on two wheels!
