Maybe I'm naive, but I didn't think that CBR600 "passing" clip looked any faster than the 300 clip, besides the faster starting speed (couldn't see the speedo very well).

You can't fix stupid, but you CAN sedate it.

The passing ability of the 300 is fine, but you can't just see any opening and go for it like with a super sport. There is actually some element of safety in being fast enough, but not crazy fast. The cbr600 would be much faster than the 300, but only if you use it. Often people on really fast bikes, like me, don't use all the speed. I never ride my gsxr 1000 wot, but I did that a lot with the 300, so yes for street use, unless you want to race someone, the 300 does fine passing, cruising on any interstate, getting out ahead of traffic. It's all you really need. It certainly isn't all you will probably want though once you've ridden a fast bike.
