Interesting. 65 mpg is about what you should expect for a high. Small bikes often do not get much lower fuel economy even when ridden hard though, so you might get 60 mpg with mixed riding and pushing it. That is true of the 250r as well. Checking mileage is based on the unscientific procedure of determing when the fuel tank is full, unless that mpg determination is done electronically as it is on some bikes and cars. The point is, the mpg figure gets more accurate over time. Using the numbers from a single fill-up can be way off. Keeping a running total of your odometer readings and fuel used at each fill-up will zero in on your actual mpg after a few fill-ups.

First fill-up didn't count as it was such a short trip.

First full tank 54.7mpg second 52.9mpg

Bike was not ridden that gently but mostly kept under 8k RPMs.

Lots of 2-up riding on the second tank.

Mine started flashing at about 180 miles both tanks and I didn't fill up until about 210 miles

This is great! My real-world mileage has been mid 50s, riding pretty aggressively
