scratch repair

Laid my bike down a few months ago and did what was necessary to get it back on the road, now I'm getting around to wanting to fix some of the smaller details. As you can imagine the fairings got scratched up. Luckily I was only going like 23 mph when I went down so the scratches aren't very deep. I did a bit of research and saw that some people have used bondo, others say no to use that, others used "body filler" and different epoxys and a ton of different stuff. I'm curious if any of you have done the same. I plan on taking my bike to the shop as little as possible and want to do any work (within reason) on it myself. The plan is to either get it wrapped or painted but I don't wanna do that until I get the fairings fixed. What have you done that's actually worked to eliminate the scratches? I'm not worried about the finish since it'll be getting painted like I said, just need it looking pretty again!
