Cheap exhaust

Bought a fake Akra last week on a whim, $100 from Amazon. Yes you can buy just the cans from eBay for like $60 but that doesn't include the midpipe which would be more than $40 to have fabbed up, if you can even find an exhaust shop to do it. It came with all the necessary hardware and while the quality is nothing to write home about for China it is very good. It ships without the Akra decal so customs can't nab it, I just happened to have one laying around. It sounds like every other 300 exhaust, no better no worse. Relatively quiet with the baffle installed. No change in performance, just lots more noise. Surprisingly it performs the same as the Arrow muffler on my friends bike with Arrow headers and matched PCV tune, will report back with dyno charts next time we go to the tuner but there's no perceptable difference on the butt dyno. Overall a good budget exhaust option if you don't like the look of the Dan Moto and Delkevic mufflers.

It's nice to see a realistic review of a slip-on. Personally that's all I'd expect performance and noise wise (and I think that's fine). I'm just happy with the weight savings and better aesthetics. All of the "carbon fiber" is simply hydrographics, right?

It is, glossy and uniform pattern but you have to be careful with the rubber strip under the hanger or itl'll scrape up the graphic if it slips to either side.

Yes, I also bought a Delkevic exhaust. It sounds great love the look of it.

I wonder what the process is to remove the sticker? Has anyone tried that...might look nicer without the fake sticker. It seems they're prone to rub away where the clamp is.

Unfortunately the rubber strip under the hanger may degrade very rapidly on these inexpensive units. I had one of these as a quickie solution while I contemplated a permanent and more expensive choice (Mivv), and during the 10 months or so on the bike, the strip was torn and frayed like the song from "Exile on Main Street." That led to slight slippage and a marring of the can's finish which was stainless steel on my version. I hope your holds up much better.

This is why I am hoping to buy it and remove the sticker; however, I am wondering what the best way to remove it and whether or not I'll be able to remove the entire sticker.
