Same as you, engine was consuming oil at a rapid rate and engine started knocking. Warranty was up in Feb and I am at 6400 miles. I called Kawi and they told me to bring my bike to the dealer to have to issue diagnosed. After the dealer looks at it and send their findings to Kawi, Kawi will make a decision to help or not. Either way I am glad it is with the shop and the out of warranty process has started.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but what happened in the end? I lost power tonight on my 300 and it turned out it had no oil. Only did a fresh oil change last month. Started knocking too and now I'm worried if it's going to be a pricy fix. I think I have a 4 year warranty but I don't fancy giving the bike to Kawasaki to only be told it's not covered and get hit with a big bill. Its a 2016 with 55,000km on it.

These same threads are on reddit from time to time. Exactly how is the Ninja 300 losing all oil rapidly? Has anyone ever figured that out?

All of the previous small Ninjas would pump oil into the airbox from the crankcase breather during extended high RPM running, especially in hot conditions or with old/sheared (low viscosity) oil.

Just something you need to keep track of closely with a small high revving engine.

Which is why when you have oil loss yet no leak or cracked oil pan or engine case is to always check the air filter/air box. Many bikes do this actually, especially since many people actually tend to overservice their oil which can cause the oil to change states a bit and overflow out the breather into the airbox.
