This is interesting.

Both my front and rear brake pads wear unevenly, with the inside pad wearing much faster on the front, and the outside pad wearing faster on the rear. I only just had some new pads put in recently as they were basically gone, whilst the outside pad is still relatively new.

Keeping an eye on this one for sure.

I notice nothing as well, pads wise. But, bike falls in the category so I guess I gotta take it in when I have time.

Is anyone's caliper actually touching the bracket? Mine looks tight but it's not touching. I wonder what the minimum spacing is.

I had to replace my front brake pads after only 5500km. One was completely gone and the other had lots of meat left. The rear ones were fine. I thought, at the time, that they were just poor-quality pads. I'm not sure buying a new, first year model was a good idea. Maybe buying a Kawasaki wasn't the right decision either.

The caliper slides outwards when you depress the brakes. That, theoretically, is when it might contact the brake line bracket.

Oddly enough, yours looks closer than mine:

These are the same exact parts that were used on the 2008-12 250s too. It is a matter of the new first year ABS and low quality control. The BS metal loops that hold the rear brake line could easily be bent by a million different things, or just not really built within tolerance. I run a zip ty on my rear SS brake hose to a loop/guide and bent the loops to where I wanted them as the hose would constantly fall out of them.

If it needs more clearance, just give it a tug with pliers. I'd expect the brake caliper to easily move the guide if it hit it while being activated.

Just had a closer look at my rear caliper......the hook is sitting hard up against the caliper and you can actually see where it has been rubbing against it when the brake is activated, causing a little groove to wear in.

This explains why the outside pad is wearing faster than the inside pad.

Going to bend it to a position that suits tonight so it doesnt interfere.

So can we do it our selfs instead of taking it all the way to the dealer sounds like a easy fix ?
