I am looking for a SMALL tank bag that I can use as a lunch box to take to work. I used to have a Fieldsheer Driver Tank Bag which worked awesome but they are now discontinued and no longer available. This is what it looked like:

Its nice and small and held my lunch perfectly.. Now everything I am finding is big and bulky.. What happened to small and simple haha..

I've got the Icon Urban tank bag. I've only ever used it as a tank bag, but it also doubles as a backpack and can carry your helmet in backpack mode. The magnets hold great. I haven't had anything too heavy in there yet, but I don't anticipate it being an issue. It is kinda big. Perhaps their Primer one is more your style?

Do you have any pics of it on the bike

just a tip for you putting magnetic tank bags on your bike. rest assured sooner or later your tank will get scratch marks all over it.

one way i have found to stop this happening is with some "antislip" sheets. you can buy them in assorted colours and feel like rubber. the sheet itself is not solid looking like a piece of paper.
it has many small holes thru the sheet. you can easily trim it to size / shape with a pair of scissors.
put this on your tank first, *THEN* put your tank bag on. problem solved.this tip i learnt 17 years ago on my cbr250rr and has served me well

if you live in Australia you can usually buy the stuff at Woolworth's in the isle where you find plastic lunch bags etc for the kitchen, and i have seen it some times at super cheap auto as well.

i went hunting on ebay and this is the stuff im talking about

its only about 2 millimetres thick, if that. works well and very inexpensive

I have the Joe Rocket Hammerhead Bag. I love it!

Sent from Motorcycle.com App

This is what I have, it's a great bag. fits the tank very well, looks like it belongs on our bike. I have only used it a couple times, but it seems perfect. the phone pocket actually fits my samsung galaxy s3, even though when I looked up the dimensions of it-it looked like an inch short..

have you had any problems with scratching or anything?

I don't like tank bags. Just my preference.

What I do like is caressing my tank at a stop light.

Loving this thread - who says the 300 can't be used for some smaller-scale touring? I actually ordered the official Kawasaki Soft-Top rear seat bag, and the tank bag for the 300. I ordered them off of Gearhead.com. They'll be coming in next Thursday, really excited!

Does anyone else have them? What are your thoughts?

i have both of these, they were thrown in by Kwaka Oz for free when they replaced my 2013 300. im impressed with them

dont let anyone tell you that your cant go touring with the Ninja 300, here is a great example of a guy who has done over 300,000 yes three hundred thousand kilometers on a Suzuki GSX 250F Across with just a 12 litre fuel tank, not 17 like us

http://www.geocities.jp/tetsu_iron/

this guy has been in a few motorcycle magazines as well

the ninja 250 has also been used in the Iron Butt Challenge

http://www.theyeagergroup.com/ninja_250_ss1000.htm

and if thats not enough to convince you a 2013-14 built motorcycle cant do long trips, then maybe this might convince you

these guys ride 110cc Honda CT-110 bikes for thousands of kilometers each year thru all kinds of terrain

I got a similar tank bag. But it has since broken. I guess I may have over stuffed it one to many times and the zipper just blew up. I will post a picture of it later, it's still usable, but not as awesome as it was. I'm actually looking into getting saddle bags for when I need to go shopping, or back and forth to school. :shrug.001:

I have my eyes on the Kriega US20. The US10 is nice too but I like the shoulder bag option of the 20 not to mention you can add up to three US10's onto it at any point if you want to. Oh, and its a drypack.

I also have my eye on this bag for when I start doing longer trips. Here is a nice review video I found online as well:

The expandability is key for me because I only need a US20 for now for lunch, change of clothes, etc.

those are also Cortech bags. And yea I'm heading toward my goal of a lightweight nimble tourer. With out paying 15K . Towards that end is why I changed my gearing, added 1" handlebar risers a more comfy seat. I also have the wiring and mounting set up to use my GPS. :):bikeday_smilie:
