There's a reason why stunters reinforce the suspension on their bikes. I've seen the front suspension seals blow from a guy hard landing a wheelie and it didn't work out well for him.
Can be done. This bike is light enough that the brakes are strong enough to stop the tire in some conditions prior to the tires reaching their friction limit. So you'll do a stoppie before sliding.
I've done a couple. Clutched it up from 7-8k RPM and it picks it up nicely.. I don't really like doing wheelies though more of learning how to corner type of rider.. It's by far a lot funner.
Nope, looks like they are gonna coach them. Talk about yer double standards, tell them they are stupid for not wearing gear and then teach them to ride on one wheel.....sheesh....
It's well know that it's stupid and I don't support it nor like it and the fact you can hurt yourself even if you do everything right. To those who have and keep doing crap like this on the street, quit being a moron and putting others in danger for your stupid fix. Unfortunately though, if they're going to do something, a bunch of people on the ineterwebs will not persuade them from doing it. I just hope they don't take someone else out being retarded. If they do eat it, then don't cry when you get an I told you so. Just be happy you're alive to read that message after you eat it.
We're not their mothers and fathers (well maybe some of us are you never know with the internet,) They're grown ass men and women and no amount of bitching will change their mind. Some people just have to learn the old fashioned way. Through personal experience. Riding is risky enough as it is but some people aren't happy with it and need to take it to the next level. It's all part of natural selection anyways. If they want to remove themselves from the gene pool, who am I to stop them?
I've done a small one on the 300 before by accident. I don't plan on trying because I don't have the extra cash to replace the front end of the bike in the case I ruin something.
I did a "baby" wheelie the other day. Caught it on camera too. Just got it up a little off the ground on first gear. Trying on second gear but cant seem to do it
I can do wheelies if i start between 5-8 mph, can't ride them out. decided to quit attempting them at all, on this little bike its too jerky. was practicing in a parking lot with my friends on their 600s and they let me try on a 2012 zx6r...much easier to get it up and keep it there for a second or two. on the 300 at one point i slammed it down admittedly hard on the forks because i had it almost straight up, i decided never again lol.
if you're going to attempt this, realize 1 mistake and you can total your bike, or injure yourself pretty badly. the bike can be replaced but you cannot wear your gear. we made one friend go home because he showed up only in a helmet. only gamble what you're willing to lose.
Stunt riding is part of the sport just like skateboarding tricks. I can respect a group of guys who find an old warehouse parking lot or closed supermarket parking lot and practice. Not everybody can afford to reserve some track or closed circuit area to learn or practice stunting.
Some people thought the slam dunk was a stupid move when it was first introduced to basketball. They said it was dumb because it required no skill and was unfair to the less athletic players and caused unnecessary risk. Now it's the most anticipated and exciting move in the game.
Stunting down a residential or other urban street with other traffic and pedestrians is not a great idea.
Now I got my 2 cents out the way:
Yeah like others have said a wheelie is possible on anything. I've seen golf carts wheelie. A power wheelie is not likely but clutch ups can be done all day. Upgrade your shocks if wheelies are your thing. If not, it could get ugly.
Opinions please.
Could an inexperienced rider (riding bikes for about 2 years and only owning a ninja 300 for about 1 year) do a wheelie on a ninja 300, from a standstill but travel over 500 meters and reach speeds of up to 60km per hour? (I am in Australia and not sure what the conversions are)
Not after opinions on how stupid it would be just after opinions on what the likelihood of this being possible is.
Thanks for any help!
