How many miles do the engines last?

My '14 has 26,000 km on it.
II know smaller engines tend not to last very long. Anyone have a stock engine that blew up on them or otherwise gave them problems?

Some chick on here reached 100,000 km some months back, and it was still running strong. I've heard of 80k miles on a 250 Ninja.

I put more than that on it riding to the grocery store that's 1.5 miles away.

On a more serious note, I know someone who's put just over 180,000 miles or 289,682 (thank you Google converter) km on her 2012 Ninja 250. Yes, it's a she and she enjoys long distance touring. It's few and far between that one has an engine failure. For the most part, if you take care of the routine maintenance, then it will take care of you. One of my west coast friends has over 90k miles on a 2008 Ninja 250 and he flogs the crap out of it at the track.

It's a girl on a bike...it's Rogue!

I've never heard of the engine just outright dying on a ninja 300..maybe no one has ridden one long enough to find out - the bike's only been on the market five years (compared to 20+ years for the 250)

Yeah, I know, I know!
Waited for FedEx delivery on Friday for gear to turn up then went to pick it up at the dealer and drive it home before it got dark (only on a permit right now).
Then rained over the weekend, and then had to fly to China on Monday. Hence only the 26 miles.
I miss it already!

the 300 has the exact same 250 engine only made a little bigger, so the 300's engine is technology that has proven itself for 31 years. It's made to last.
