I have had just about enough of hearing about how people are going to wreck eventually just because they are new!
Yes, there is a real possibility of wrecking, but that is not near as good a reason for buying a used bike as is the cost savings and the chances of wanting to trade it in for a different bike after they learn more about what they like and dislike.
Let's put this in perspective:
I bought a Ninja 300 brand new. Never owned a motorcycle before. Rode it for 2 years before trading to my ZX-6R. NEVER. WENT. DOWN.
I know this is just a single example in a sea of other examples, but I don't find it to be a worthwhile endeavor to tell every upcoming/new rider that they will eventually wreck/go down. Maybe you wrecked because you don't have enough self control, or you're just inclined to never be good at riding.
Yes, at the end of the day, it is probably the truth that we will all have a spill at some point in our life, especially those of us who plan to ride for as much of it as possible and likely being someone elses fault, but let's drop the telling every new rider that they are going to inevitability spill. They have enough to be nervous about, and I bet many experienced riders would tell you that being nervous does more harm than good for your riding. Don't be the person that creates a self-fulfilling prophecy for a new rider.
