Buying full set of gear, found good deals but are they too good?
I will be picking up my new and first motorcycle in a week. I've been scouring the internet looking at gear, reviews and the best deals. Checked web sites like RevZilla, Ebay and Amazon, then some other web pages specific to motorcycle gear.
I've found some what seems like excellent prices on ebay for a open box Arai helmet. (50% off msrp) and about the same deal on a new pair of full protection boots off amazon.
While both those sites have some decent policies that will protect me from getting ripped off I still don't want to waste my time fixing such.
Are these open/out of box sales on helmets safe generally (avoiding used/damaged helms) and are knocks off that commonly sold? The seller has around 20k feedback and 99%+ on ebay.
The Amazon seller posted stock images with copy and paste details and don't seem to specialize in selling gear. Are the knock off easy to tell from the OG?
The prices seem realistic but very well priced compared to msrp and prices of other top legit sites/sellers.
I'll be going to some local motorsport shops and dealers tomorrow to actually try on gear and get a feel for the best fit for most things. I wear a 11 shoe size so I assume a euro 45 would fit but it could be hit or miss since different manufacturer sizing may vary.
