That's normal. Although I don't like it either. And I already got honked at/talked to by other vehicle riders saying my headlight is out.

 

Lol, yea just a couple nights ago I was riding from work behind a coworker and at the next stop sign she motioned me over to her window to tell me the same.

When I told her it's my high beam and turned it on she asked why I don't just leave it on. 'Cause I used to, until it pissed off enough people.
"I just don't want you to get pulled over."
"Most bikes only come with one light; they're not gonna pull me over."

This has been done in sport bikes with two separate enclosures for a long time now. It's an easy way to sort out who's actually a rider and who's faking it. Some of the newer top end bikes are getting away from the right only low beam and using dual modes with both lights on now. Honda got around this by keeping with the single headlamp enclosure.

Right? And I don't want to use highbeam at all time just for the sake of other people complaining. Is it possible to have it fix/custom to have both lights on when on low beam and EXTRA bright on both when on high beam?

 

High beams are generally the same bulb as the lows in motorcycles, just pointed higher.

So you could just adjust the bulb downwards a bit.

 

lol I love this. Everyone I've invited over points that out. "hey man only one lights working" or "is it suppose to be like that." I wasn't involved in the design process, and yet there's still a hint of embarrassment lol. I'm interested in a fix for this. I thought about the brights always approach, but since I can't ride towards myself, I'm unsure of how bright my lights are. I'm worried about the on coming traffic.

to be honest i have ridden a lot of bikes at night and i must say that for the stock headlight setup on this bike at night time, its very good indeed. the highbeam is nothing short of magic , for stock lights, its damn good.

 

My high beam could probably do with coming down a touch, only a tiny bit, but I have to agree they pretty good for stock lights. Way better than my car that's for sure. A simple upgrade of the bulb to a better quality brand would probably make it even brighter without even having to go HID.

 

spot on Jeff, i usually run the "Narva +" series of globes in my rides after the stock ones go kaput and they work very very well. pick them up at supercheap auto and the likes and are usually not that expensive

 

Actually I had a Yamaha Zuma that was like that and I found thru a goggle search that there were 2 wiring kits offered that converted my system so both lights where on, on the low and high settings. The only difference between the offered kits was one had a fuse in line.
