so after reading this post, i decided to do an oil change at 510 miles.

bought the oil change kit at
amazon amazon
for $35.

just like everyone else, i had a really hard time taking off the original oil filter.

i just went with DaveTheCanuck's advice and jabbed a screw driver into the oil filter. while this method did work and saved me a couple of $, it was a bit messy as the oil filter managed to splatter oil all over my floor.

i poured about 2 quarts first, let the bike warm up a bit, and rode around the block briefly. then topped it off, totaling 2.5 quarts

btw did anyone's bike steam up? my bike was smoking up a bit after the oil change and was wondering if this was normal?

Yep lay some foil over the heads next time you take off the filter.
